Frida Kahlo – Her Photos exhibition displayed in the United States

The Frida Kahlo – Her Photos exhibition has returned to the United States, where it is displayed at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana, California from 25 February to 25 June 2017. The exhibition, which presents photographs from the Mexican painter’s personal collection, has been a resounding success in all the venues in which it is displayed. The previous exhibition, which took place in Brazil, was visited by 50,000 people.

All of the works displayed in the exhibition and many more can be consulted in the Frida Kahlo – Her Photos catalogue, which is the result of a meticulous selection among the thousands of photos from the original collection. Besides the historic and artistic value of these photographs, some are also valuable as they were taken by famous photographer friends of Frida. This explains the reason for the presence of well-known names such as Man Ray, Martin Munkácsi, Edward Weston, Brassaï, Tina Modotti, Pierre Verger and Manuel Álvarez Bravo in the exhibition.
