Frida Kahlo – Her Photos in New Zealand

The Frida Kahlo Museum, under the direction of Hilda Trujillo Soto, presented this beautiful collection to the world in 2009 and since then Frida Kahlo – Her Photos has been presented in ten different countries to more than 420.000 visitors. The exhibition is now in Te Manawa – Museum of Art, Science and History, in Palmerston North, New Zealand until 24 July.

The exhibition contains photographs from the artist’s personal collection, many of which are unknown to the general public. In addition to constituting important historical documents, with works by notable photographers such as Man Ray, Martin Munkácsi, Edward Weston, among many others, the exhibition reveals the importance of photography in the life of Frida Kahlo, as well as helping us better understand her work.
