The Norman Parkinson exhibition is in Galicia

Having already been presented in Portugal, more precisely by the Cascais Cultural Center, the exhibition Norman Parkinson – Always in Style is now at the Barrié Foundation, in A Coruña, where it will remain until 19 January 2020. The opening of the exhibition, on October 10, included a guided tour by the curator, Terence Pepper, and counted with an enormous attendance of the public.

Norman Parkinson is considered one of the most prominent fashion photographers of the 20th century. His groundbreaking style revolutionized fashion photography, in a 56-year career characterized by the photographer’s capacity to keep up with the emerging trends of each decade and to reinvent his style, remaining always a reference in the fashion world. Norman Parkinson’s success allowed him to photograph the most important icons of the 20th century, some of them in the beginning of their careers, such as The Beatles or Audrey Hepburn, whom he photographed when she was only 23 years old, before her success on Broadway.

This exhibition presents 80 photographs from the different stages of Parkinson’s production, integrating seldom seen images, as well as images considered a reference in the history of photography. Also included in the exhibition is the documentary “Aka Norman Parkinson”, co-produced by the BBC and the Norman Parkinson Archive.
