TE presented its first exhibition in October 2006, held at the Mãe D’Água reservoir in Amoreiras, Lisbon. The event was a photography exhibition entitled Amor-te (Life before Death), by Walter Schels and Beate Lakotta. This was a complex and challenging proposal but proved to be a great success with the public and critics alike.
The public was challenged to contemplate death, by means of large format photographs depicting terminally ill patients before and just after their death. Life, love and death were reflected in 44 images, in each of the faces portrayed. This was an intense display which was widely acclaimed at an international level and caused innumerable debates about the limits of art.
In the dramatic and powerful setting of the Mãe D’Água reservoir, Amor-te was visited by 4.000 people over 25 days.
