Vivian Maier – Antologia Closes with Over 54,000 Visitors
The exhibition Vivian Maier – Antologia closed on 30 August 2026 at the Centro Português de Fotografia, in Porto, after five months on view. Presented by Terra Esplêndida in partnership with CPF, the exhibition welcomed more than 54,000 visitors, a figure that reflects the interest of Portuguese audiences in Vivian Maier’s work and story, as well as in photography exhibitions.
Curated by Anne Morin, the exhibition brought together more than 140 photographs by Maier and was the most comprehensive exhibition ever presented in Portugal dedicated to her work. According to the curator, it was not merely a retrospective, but an exploration of the unique way Maier observed and interpreted reality: “Vivian Maier narrated the beauty of ordinary things, seeking out the imperceptible cracks and elusive inflections of the real in the banality of everyday life.”
Part of the ticket revenue was donated to Acreditar – Associação de Pais e Amigos de Crianças com Cancro. As part of the exhibition, Terra Esplêndida donated €15,119,05 to the organisation to support its work with children and young people with cancer and their families.
