20.000 visitors so far to the exhibition Genesis in Lisbon
Open to the public at the Torreão Nascente Municipal Gallery at the Cordoaria Nacional since 10 April, the exhibition Genesis, which features Sebastião Salgado’s most recent work, has already been visited by more than 20.000 people.
The global success of this exhibition, with more than 2,5 million visitors worldwide, has been repeated in Lisbon. In less than a month, thousands of people have visited the exhibition in order to learn about the last ‘untouched environments’ of our planet, which Sebastião Salgado photographed on more than 30 trips over 8 years.
The exhibition in Lisbon includes a section on Instituto Terra – an environmental project developed by the photographer and Lélia Wanick Salgado, his wife and curator of the exhibition – which highlights the importance of individual actions for the recovery of the environmental balance of the planet.
Genesis is on display at the Torreão Nascente Municipal Gallery at the Cordoaria Nacional, from Monday to Sunday (including holidays), until 2 August.
