Frida Kahlo – Her Photos back in Brazil
The Frida Kahlo – Her Photos exhibition continues its tour and is now in Latin America. Since 3 September, it has been exhibited at the Image and Sound Museum (MIS) in São Paulo, Brazil, in collaboration with the Porto Seguro Cultural Space and will remain there until 20 November 2016. The display at the MIS stands out for the originality and exuberance of the exhibition design, by the architect Juan Cabello Arribas.
The exhibition not only reveals the complexity and intimate nature of the work of this great Mexican artist, but also provides an insight into the intense, turbulent life of one of the most mysterious, iconic figures in Latin American art. Directed by Hilda Trujillo Soto and curated by Pablo Ortiz Monasterio, the exhibition presents part of the private collection of photographs by the famous Mexican artist. To Frida, a photograph was a precious relic of the past, an object to be cherished and a powerful instrument of creative work.
